The CYBATHLON is pleased to announce a partnership with Europcar and Stiftung Cerebral for the event in Kloten, October 25-27. This partnership makes it possible to provide specially adapted vehicles for accessible transportation for our pilots.

This ensures that our pilots – people with physical disabilities who are taking part in the competition – can get to the events safely, comfortably and on time.

Specially equipped vehicles for maximum mobility

The VW Caddy Maxi vehicles provided by Europcar are specially adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. They offer enough space for a driver, four passengers and a person in a wheelchair. A fully non-slip ramp that has passed 20G crash tests allows for safe and comfortable entry into the vehicle. The “Future Safe” safety system and the tested “Protektor” system ensure safety while driving, optimally securing both passengers and the wheelchair.

With these accessible vehicles, our pilots can easily take part in the CYBATHLON competitions and demonstrate their extraordinary abilities in an international setting.

Support from the Cerebral Foundation

The provision of these vehicles is largely supported by Europcar and the Cerebral Foundation. Thanks to their co-financing, the vehicles can be offered at particularly favorable conditions. For more than 60 years, the foundation has been committed to helping people with cerebral movement disorders and their families throughout Switzerland. It promotes self-determination, mobility and integration for those affected and contributes to improving their quality of life.

Thanks to this valuable partnership, our pilots can travel safely and comfortably and focus fully on their participation in the CYBATHLON.

On behalf of all the teams, we would like to express our sincere thanks and look forward to the transport and our cooperation.
