The iSense team at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad is dedicated to the design and development of cutting-edge technologies in the field of computer vision, specifically focusing on intelligent vision assistant systems for the visually impaired. Our mission is to harness the power of image processing, advanced sensors, and machine learning to create innovative solutions that enhance the quality of life for individuals with visual impairments.
About the Pilot
In the Cybathlon competition, iSense proudly introduces two inspiring pilots who embody resilience, determination, and innovation. Sahar Rajabi and Mohammad Mirghasemi, a devoted couple, bring unique strengths and perspectives shaped by their life experiences and professional backgrounds.
Sahar, a graduate of Ferdowsi University with a Bachelor’s in English Language and Literature, is a dedicated translator and educator who has also made her mark as an accomplished swimmer on the Khorasan Razavi province team for the visually impaired. Her journey, marked by her blindness from birth, reflects her steadfast pursuit of excellence in both academics and athletics. Mohammad, also a Ferdowsi University alumnus, holds a degree in Psychology and Special Education for Exceptional Children. An advocate for technology access, he has spent over a decade creating tutorials and teaching computer skills to empower blind children. Despite losing his sight due to childhood glaucoma, Mohammad’s enthusiasm for assistive technology continues to inspire. Driven by a shared goal of advancing assistive technology, Sahar and Mohammad are not just pilots but key contributors to refining the iSense device, aiming to make daily life easier for the visually impaired community worldwide.
