The CYBATHLON Road to 2024 starts with a first competition: The first edition of a new format called the CYBATHLON Challenges. The CYBATHLON Challenges offer development teams the opportunity to involve people with disabilities in their development process from the very beginning and to test their assistance systems in a competitive situation. The competitions are expected to take place twice a year in several or all CYBATHLON disciplines until CYBATHLON 2024.

The Challenges take place in a decentralised format and consist of one single task per discipline from the Races and Rules for the CYBATHLON 2024. Each team is given one single attempt at the competition task – the team who solves the task fastest, wins the challenge.

The first CYBATHLON Challenges take place in May 2022 in four disciplines:

  • Arm Prosthesis Race (ARM)
  • Exoskeleton Race (EXO)
  • Leg Prosthesis Race (LEG)
  • Wheelchair Race (WHL)

The rehearsal and production of the races for the teams take place on 16 and 17 May. Spectators can follow the CYBATHLON Challenges in a livestream on www.cybathlon.com. Further information about the exact dates of the livestream will follow soon on this website.
